Shay Brennan is the sole Director of Shay Brennan Constructions Pty Ltd. Shay's daily role involves the management and allocation of resources to all domestic, commercial and government infrastructure contracts. Shay works closely with his clients, his staff and his subcontractors to deliver construction projects which involves WHS/Enviro and quality management activities, programming, coordination of multiple site works and trades, address Industry and Authority requirements and stakeholder liaison.

 

Professional Experience

Shay's expertise extends to all facets of building, with over 38 years in the industry. He started his bricklaying apprenticeship in 1981, completed in 1984, finishing first in state and winning awards for brickwork. On completion of his apprenticeship, Shay obtained his bricklaying licence and started his sole trader business. SBC started with just himself, another bricklayer and a labourer, conducting mainly sub-contract bricklaying. And now, there are over 20 employees of SBC.

After obtaining his builders licence, Shay started to build homes in the Tamworth area. He did this as well as maintaining bricklaying crews, constructing up to 5 new homes a year, including renovations, additions, spec homes and contract homes. 

Shay has also been delivering projects for Government Departments for over 25 years. It started with tendering on small works up to $100K (ramps, painting, maintenance, toilet upgrades). Following successful delivery of these minor works contracts, Shay obtained Prequalification Scheme for General Construction Works valued from $1 million (SCM0256) to $9 million (SCM1461). Shay has successfully completed over 50 projects for Government.
